Budgam, Aug 15 (KNO): The 78th Independence Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm across Budgam, where the national flag was hoisted to mark the occasion.
The main flag-hoisting ceremony was held at Sports Stadium Budgam, where Nazir Ahmad Khan, DDC Chairman, hoisted the national flag and inspected the parade alongside SSP Budgam, Nikhil Borkar and other officials.
According to the details collected by the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), around 4000-4200 people participated in the function amidst elaborate security arrangements.
The Chief Guest, in his address, congratulated the participants, highlighting the development works carried out during the year. He also paid rich tributes to the martyrs, who sacrificed their lives for the nation.
Notably, at Main Chowk Soibugh, and other places in district the Tricolour was also hoisted, with locals and students attending the ceremony.
Meanwhile, the function at Soibug Budgam saw the participation of local school children, who were holding the Tricolour in their hands while performing patriotic acts—(KNO)
